Heirloom Wooden Salad Bowls

are made in America and intended to be treasured for generations.. Please

Help your beautiful wooden bowls glow and age beautifully:

  • These beautiful Heirloom Cherry Bowls' Color will deepen over time and with exposure to light.
  • You can improve woods' lustre and protect them by oiling them with
    • mineral oil and/ or
    • beeswax  (both are *nontoxic   AND  * won't go rancid)
  •  Any time your beautiful bowls * feel dry to the touch, or
    • look dusty, or
    • you feel the grain (they feel less smooth, when your fingers catch the grain a little, & they begin to feel a bit rough)
    • it's time to oil them again
  • Your best tool to oil salad bowls is your hands-- unlike cloths, your hands won't absorb so much oil, and they will get nicely moisturized in the process
  • Wood is absorbent -- like a paper towel, it 'wicks' moisture along its structure --- oil fills these gaps and keeps water from getting in.

Care and Use tips:

  • Always rinse + dry promptly... Be sure to flip your salad bowls upside-down to dry after using.
  • Never let water -- or salad dressing or other liquids - sit in a wood bowl for a long period of time.
  • Never clean wood bowls or any wood product in the dishwasher. We recommend using only a little water and - when necessary - a small amount of mild unscented soap to clean your wood products, then hand dry promptly.
  • Re-apply mineral oil and/ or beeswax any time your wood looks dry or dusty.
